I don't care that you're "hearing" it --- if it's leaking there will be a carbon trailer... and that should be SEEN. If it's up top of the system - you'll need a light and a mirror.... If the leak is big enough to be heard - the carbon trail will be big enough to be seen... and it might not be the header collector gasket at all... it could be anywhere that is welded -- and depending on age and scraping etc - it could be somewhere else along the pipe.
