What's the story with mono- vs. multi-leaf springs on F-bodies. . .especially with regards to Auto-X use???

I have a 1967 Pontiac Firebird and I'm going to be replacing the leaf springs. . .I can stay with mono leafs or a I can switch to multi-leafs.

I know in the off-road world that a leaf spring pack with many thin leafs is more desirable than a leaf spring pack with a a few thick leafs.
