I ran an Edelbrock ProFlo EFI on a 350 back in the day. It was a multiport system and I also used the Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads and camshaft with it.

Worked awesome right out of the box and required very little setup and no actual tuning as they supplied the chip for my engine profile. I put over 10k miles on it and never once had a problem. Got good mileage, had good drivability and power. However, I think running Edelbrock heads and cam meant the supplied tune was probably a lot better than a totally custom solution.

I wouldn't spend the $2k to upgrade it but if you already own the system why would you change it without running it first? I say try and see how you like it and then make a decision about spending more money or not.
