Also, when left exposed...carbon fiber gets sort of old and the sunlight beats on it after a few years, it starts to turn that yellowish/orangey/goldish color. Do you know what I'm talking about? Can anyone explain the discoloration and why it does that? But, for $2000 and up, I don't want to take that chance. If painted I get that it won't do it, but if I paint it and leave the stripes carbon...it'll discolor.
From what I understand the discoloration is from uv ....carbon needs a few / number of coats of clear to help combat this , as for the quality of ultra I can tell you I'm having custom chevelle fenders made and the company that is doing them told me in conversation that they have a very good quality part and the owner ,can't remember his name .....is a stand up guy.
P.s anyone wanting 70-72 chevelle fenders message me and I can speak with my carbon guy get him to do a small production run . The fenders are going on my 70 but I sent him brand new 71 fenders so no marker light holes.
