I get it and agree, but looking over Anvil's site, they aren't giving those parts away. It seems they (Anvil)are the high end of American muscle parts. I would think there are just as many high end builds in the muscle car scene as the high end import scene. Again, what do I know, I'm definatly not in that market.
It costs 1,000's of dollars to build ONE mold... A manufacturer has to sell a bunch of parts just to recoup the costs of the mold, let alone make a profit. The Chinese guys that have approached him are willing to "eat" the cost of the molds - but then that means THEY own the mold - and they're going to get that cost back by cutting corners or charging more per part. Either way - you end up paying for it (the proverbial "there's no free lunch").

I've said it before and I know we've talked about it, I'm actually proud of him and his partner for NOT taking the parts oversees. I'm a big fan of buying local and supporting American made products. His business supports families and that's a good thing.
Not trying to change anyone's business plan it just seems Anvil could have a good thing going if they just got it....better. Like the investing thread, it's good to know, and learn, the business side of things. Even if it does derail a thread
