UPDATES!!
Well, it has been a busy past few months here on the front lines of this build. I have been working hard on the build on multiple fronts and those efforts are paying off with some exciting progress!
The fabrication is coming along nicely and it is really starting to take shape. I am currently not far away from having the roof skin completed as well as the windshield frame. While it may seem like slow progress, I have also been working on the parts side of the build which is harder than building the car in my opinion. The parts will define this car as something more than just a custom body and my goal for this car has been modern parts and modern functionality. Achieving the details that I have wanted has been a long process and countless emails and corespondence to make my goals a reality. With this in mind, here is where a lot of progress has been made!
First off, thanks to Jesse Kershaw from Ford Racing for helping me out and keeping a small fry like myself in the loop on a unavailable engine that I have been talking with him about for over a year. with that said I am stoked to announce that I purchased one of the first
2.3L Ecoboost crate engines from ford last week and should have it in August! 310hp and 320lb/ft of torque should be a fun way power this light weight machine. They have also commited to supporting the build with the engine control pack when it is ready!
The next big items that I have been able to cross of my list are the brakes that are on order with
Wilwood with custom coated calipers as well as the brake and clutch pedal assembly for the car! Thanks to Mike Scully from Wilwood for helping me outfit the car with the right parts and for keeping in my budget! the
Goodyear Eagle F1 tires are in as well!
The last big news for the car has been the
2015 Mustang IRS that I purchased to make this car a litte more interesting. It just so happens that the track width was exactly what I was looking to run for the rear of the car so only very minor changes will be made to make it fit the plans for the car. I will be mounting it to the chassis in the coming weeks and the plan is to have the car rolling on its own weight by the end of August!
I have some more pending news but will wait until it is more official to announce it. For now, here come the Pictures!
