We installed a Fitech unit on our 70 Streetgrip Camaro in May. The installation took about 4 hours and the car started and ran like a rental. We used their fuel command module as well. The FCM is a cannister that is fed by the oem mechamical fuel pump at low pressure. It contains a 1 qt reservoir and an internal hi pressure fuel pump to supply the injectors. Very clever design, perfect for the person who doesnt want to mess with replacing their oem tank.
I agree that the return spring is a bit stiff, but we overcam that by making the throttle lever a touch longer for more leverage. No biggie.
I have a reasonable amount of EFI experience dating back to 1990, and I think the Fitek unit is by far the best overall package ive ever dealt with. It works like everyone thought EFI was supposed to work 20 years ago...seamlessly.
In addition, the throttle response was improved, the torque was improved, and the fuel milage went from 14 to 18. I'm Ordering 4 more for our other various cars.
Yes, Fitek is backed up now...that happens when you have such a hot product. Patience will be rewarded!
