Sorry you feel you were mistreated by the seller, but unless there were additional back channel communications I am not aware of, I do not see anything inappropriate here.

Your post expressing your "interest" does not constitute a very solid offer to purchase IMO. It typically represents the beginning of a discussion.
And the 12 hour "rule" is not something I have ever heard of either.
We just ask everyone to act responsibly, respectfully and timely when selling or buying items here.
