You are correct T_Raven. The billet aluminum Hub Cap Seal pictured in all of the Hybrid Floater Kits does in fact retain the full float style axle as well as seals any diff fluid from escaping.

Both axles ultimately act/perform the same. Some folks may prefer GM/OEM type design/technology, while others may prefer a more traditional style full floater axle.
The full float style axle is more cost effective so may be the deciding factor for most..
