Meanwhile back in Marfa, Texas....
We took a little longer to get out of that town because Rob noticed the rear sway bar and end links were not really installed properly and were (1) making a nice thunk noise on bumps that we attributed to the sweet air shocks, and (2) putting a hurtin on the frame rail (pic doesn't quite do it justice)
"Bird" the welder.... and project collector... beer drinker... general comedian... husband to the proprietor of the Buns n Roses cafe in front of his hobby hut.... let us borrow some tools...
Wish we took more pics here but between being in a hurry to get on the road and shooting the breeze with Bird and his cronies for awhile we didn't get much. Sway bar removal was a great call by Rob even though Gaetano advised against it. No more thunks and frame rail saved from further damage, and full travel of the rear leafs was restored. Can attest to that improvement above 100 mph.
I think Rob has a pic of Bird's 1600 mile OG C5 he is gonna take to BJ to sell one day.
