Wheel alignment systems
So, I'm looking for an alignment system that's basic, doesn't cost what a new Hunter machine costs ($46k) and is reasonably accurate. It'll be used on a fleet of cars (all the same) I work on which only has a toe adjustment in the front and non-adjustable swing axle in the rear. I would like to be able to measure camber and caster too though. Accuracy is important as tires look to be one of our biggest consumables.
Looking for real world experience/feedback on the various systems out there. The QuickTrick system is one I might try but as the "sensors" don't get calibrated, it appears it's very dependent on getting it attached squarely to the wheel and our wheels are no lip cast aluminum.
A little background, I've done thousands of alignments and my colleague I'm working on this with was a damper engineer for an Indy car team. We plan on scaling this to multiple locations across the country. If appropriate at some point we'll buy the big fancy Hunter or similar machine, but since we only work on one kind of car, this seems to be quite a bit of overkill.
