I would suggest staying away from the 4th Gen camaro motor as they have a "park" position that sucks the wipers closer to the cowl. That leaves your wipers in an odd position on the windshield while they're in intermittent mode. I tried it on my '68 Camaro and scrapped the idea.

I'm using the 4th gen steering column who's stalk mounted wiper switch, interestingly enough, shares the intermittent resistor values with the '99 - '07 Silverado wiper motor. I picked the motor from a junk yard for $15. It looks very similar to the DSE unit and does not have the 4th gen's park feature. Wiring it is also a no brainer if using a more modern column.

If appearance is your thing: I'm also relocating the wiper motor to the extreme drivers side of the firewall, hidden under the fender. I'm not sure if it's something you could do an an A body, but something to consider.
