Default Is there any real difference between a Pro-Touring and Grand Touring car?

To everyone:

Been reading and thinking, Is there a real Difference between "Pro-Touring, and and 'Grand Touring"?

Spirited driving, 2 seats, OR 2+2, Comfort also on long drives at high speed, Street legal, but Track Capable.

I have read all these terms referred to in a Grand Touring Car, as well as a Pro-Touring Car.

Is the ONLY real difference one came from the factory as a Grand Touring Car, and the other was "Built" into a Grand Touring car?

P/W, P/B, P/S, Rack and Pinion Steering, A/C, Nice comfortable seats, nice stereos, Powerful, High Speed and so on?

Is "Pro-Touring", the American Version of the European "Grand Touring"?

It seems like basically the same thing, called by two different names.

Is this really all there is that separates the two?

I have literally spent over 6 figures on several different cars, both American (My favorite) and European (Commonly very refined but also fast and can carve corners)

I'm interested in your thoughts.

Thanks,

Ty O'Neal
