Yes, they can be used on either side. To accomplish what you are suggesting would take "two passenger side
Adaptors" (assuming your driver side shock is on the back side of the axle tube. If not then "two driver side
Adaptors"
I would be very surprised though if my standard configuration would not clear. Obviously has a little to do with what caliper choice you make to.
