If I might ask, what are your intentions for the car, heavy drag strip or the occasional trip to the track and mostly street? I just installed a tko-600 in my PT car and Im proud to say there is life beyond a BW or Muncie and Im a die hard muncie guy with a heavily built m22 behind a 540 w/4.11s. It is so nice to drop that thing in 5th gear on the highway, and have the Rpms come down to 2k, just a real nice cruise. The reason I ask how you will use the car is if it hooks real hard at the track with slicks, on repetitive basis, I would be afraid that gear box may come apart or perhaps something else. I think Im actually lucky that I havent dead hooked my 540, its probably the reason why my drivetrain is still in one piece. As far as the bell goes, I have found that the mcleod is regestered better than the lakewood with respect to the concentricity of the center bore and pilot. You should be fine with the lakewood just make sure you dial indicate it, and use the offset dowel if you need.
