Tiltbed trailers are supposed to be easier to load lowered cars n trucks on, but I've never used one myself. A nice steel trailer will weigh around 2500#s where you can get an equally optioned aluminum trailer down to about 1500#s...but they'll cost about 3 times as much. So your budget and towing capacity will need to be weighed...

Most steel open trailers can be bought for around $1800-2500 and aluminum ones start around $6500 and can go as high as $10,000 depending on options.

I've used a steel deck 18' with a 4' dovetail for over 5 years now. It pulls great, is pretty easy to load and does the job but I also covet a nice aluminum one so I can get a little bit of tongue weight off my RV. One of these days...
