The wife and I were standing out front with my son and his girlfriend, and this truck and car trailer pulls into our driveway like he owns the place...

It's Charley with that same **** eating grin. Opens the trailer and rolls out a 70 Chevelle. Basically a one owner mostly original paint car, perfect for a project build. Looks like the owner was elderly and liked to bump into things but overall a solid car.

When I was in high school I got to babysit a 71 El Camino SS that was owned by a doctor friend of the family. He told me he had special ordered the paint color and it looked like this, with the cowl hood and black SS stripes.

I've never forgotten that color combo, absolutely stunning IMO. So that's the plan. I want to build a driver in that color combo. Wish list (currently)

LT4 supercharged crate engine

I have a T56 but now thinking about the 8 speed auto

Love to have a Speedtech or Roadster Shop chassis but budget will likely dictate a bolt on setup. That's what I had on Malitude and it worked great. I remember asking Stielow what his opinion of Malitude was before I bought it from Charley. He told me that of all the cars he had built to that point, for a longer trip like HRPT he'd choose Malitude straight up, just rode nicer with the full frame. I agree, my favorite driving car ever was Malitude, just rode great and super comfortable to drive. Handled well enough for me, but not a stiff ride. That was the inspiration for this build.

Vaporworx fuel system... they just work.

Haven't narrowed down tires/wheels but likely an 18" combo for me.

Mostly stock interior with aftermarket seats and gauges.

I plan to drive this car as much as possible. Definitely want to do the Good Guys Road Tour. From the friends who've done it it's their favorite run, even better than HRPT (which I also plan on attending).

I'll have to roll the car out of the shop and take some pics.

See how easy that was...... kinda like going to Confession.....
