Got pulled over coming home late with my newly purchased 72 Monte back in college. The local officer claimed that my exhaust was "way too loud" and that I didn't have mufflers. I told him to check for himself that I indeed had them and he screamed at me! I don't know how he could have complained because they were Dynomax turbos and I was idling past him. And since the plastic license plate clips in the front bumper were missing, I had the plate sitting on the dash, tucked into the A pillar. Thank God I had a squeaky clean record, got let off with a stern warning.
Now that I married into a law enforcement family....my troubles are over. One quick call and I'm off the hook!
