That's right, so all they have to do is make one up. How do you prove they are lying? Couple examples:

I was cruising through Bloomington, MN on my way home late one night in a 35 mph zone. I was approaching a vehicle traveling the same direction only going much slower which I immediately suspected was a police vehicle. I made sure I was going a little under 35 mph. Sure enough, as I passed the car I saw that it was an unmarked squad. I continued on for another mile or so and just before I hit the freeway, the lights go on. The officer asked for my license and insurance and said nothing else. He went back to his car and returned a few minutes later and said "thank you, have a nice night". So I asked him what he stopped me for. He asked me if I knew what the speed limit was. I said yes, 35 mph. He said, well you were going a little faster than that. Ya right.

Another time I was on my way home from work at 2am cruising down the highway in Farmington, MN. I was in my El Camino. I see squads hiding out along that stretch of highway all the time so I never speed and I always pay attention to what I'm doing. Sure enough, I passed one parked in a dark spot on the side of the road. Just as I pass him, the lights go on. This time I got the 50 questions. Where are you coming, from where are you going, have you been drinking...and he told me the reason he pulled me over was because I crossed the white line on the shoulder. There was no WAY he could have seen that even if I did! So I got the verbal driving lesson and a "nice car" comment and sent on my way.

I don't want to sound like I don't appreciate the work police do trying to crack down on drunk driving because I do. But, I don't think it's right for them to make crap up just so they can pull someone over.
