It’s been a busy summer but I finally found some time to work on the Chevelle. Over the last few days I finished cutting out the floor and firewall.

Then I added in the two 2x2” rails to connect the front and rear chassis sections. More bracing will be added but this is just to get me started.

Once all that was done I put it on the ground for the first time in about two years! My curiosity was killing me so I scaled it just to see.

Notice the driver side is heavier and the front bias is pretty light, but I’m sure the hood sitting on the roof skewed things a bit. Now that I have a baseline, I’m going to weigh it after each major change, such as the cage, engine & trans, etc. My goal is to not exceed 3400 lbs.
