First, I want to say thanks to everyone's feedback and continued participation as this project is really starting to get off the ground and pick up speed. Whichever styling concept gets chosen, I have every bit of confidence that Jeff will be able to execute it and that we will all be floored by the final result.

As for what everyone is looking at here, Jason, Brian and I discussed early on that we needed be sure to show a good range of concepts. There is very little overlap in the 3 that are shown. Having one strong "heritage based" concept was a great idea, but the others needed to be a fresh look and hopefully you all agree that we achieved that.

What I tried to do with mine was clean up the details while retaining the classic Olds look. The '70 rectangular blinkers match the rectangles in the grill, light surrounds and bumper but I wanted to add some G-machine functionality to them a-la air intakes/brake cooling. As for the taillights, the busy looking 72 inserts had to go. I added the silver stripe to continue the thick notch created by the front bumper and also to visually minimize rear quarter S-body bulge. It always looked awkward to me. The last little detail I smoothed was to remove the trim around the side marker lights. I chose slate blue because, #1 you don't see it very often, #2 Olds always had a more refined/classic look than other musclecars, (I tried about 50 combos) #3 I saw a Toyota Avalon with a shade that I absolutely love, #4 I want it to stand out among g-machines.

Anyway, thanks again everyone for getting involved. It was fun to work on this and I was not surprised at all by the premium quality of work by Jason and Brian. I really had to be on my toes for this one! Maybe John will have some time on the next project...hint hint. I would have loved to see what he had up his sleeve given more time.
