I purchased to Dorman part several months ago and it is aluminum.
The Wagner replacement part is made by AP, so in either case they are pretty good parts. Rockauto had both.
The Camaro has a 3" system exiting at a 45* angle backward just behind the rear tires. 17" Magnaflow mufflers is like stuffing 11# in a 10# hole. During idle and cruise it's quite nice but at WOT it makes all kinds of noise. With the Magnaflow being an absorbsion type it tends to get louder over time as the supercharger is tough on them.
