That's one reason. Even a 3" intercooler requires completely re-configuring the hood latch on a 70 Chevelle. Plus I didn't want to have the intercooler heating up the air into the radiator. All the factory supercharged LSA's, LT4/LT5, etc. use a liquid to air setup and they are fine. Plus I have the Holley alky injection system under boost, so the air temps should be fine.
