HOWE RACING ball joint question
Anyone here have howe racing taller balljoins?
I am putting the .900"t upper and .500"t lower ball joints in my 1970 elcamino i am Camino ElCornero and have had some issues with the uppers.
Lead in- i had these installed and not tightened when i noticed the boots were too big of a diameter i contracted and got the correct boots.
Putting back together, It would not draw the stud thru enough for the castle nut.
It ended up stripping the threads from the nut.
The balljoints came with washers, i assumed I had lost the upper washers but since the stud only needed the thickness of the washer to have enough clearance for the cotter pin, i am now thinking I ordered washers for the upper and they are not supposed to have them.
Anyone know for sure? I contacted HOWE RACING but have not heard back yet.
