Our man in the woods reporter Scott Stap was at M1 Concourse for drag racing and show cars at the annual RoadKill Nights event, presented by Dodge but then took a trip north to see a car show started by a couple high school boys at an abandoned drag strip. Every year this event brings action, excitement, and new automotive experiences to Michigan (and visitors from other Midwestern states) automotive enthusiasts!
This episode is from “race day” where grudge match racers duked it out as many other qualified racers took turns accelerating down the back stretch of M1’s autocross track. Anything was possible from watching four-time Funny Car world champion Matt Hagan put his car sideways on the track and NHRA Top Fuel star Leah Pruett making a picture perfect pass to mini dragsters with brand new 2025 Charger Daytona bodies showing what future generations have in store for us. There was also the classic wheel standing presentation by Mike Mantel and the biggest draw of all, the totally stripped down and cut apart 318 Dodge Ram driven by the dynamic duo of Finnegan and Freiburger.
