I spend too much time under my cars and thought
the panels may hurt you with the cells and hard plastic??

Bob, Yes you can pull out an individual panel to get to spills. It isn't any more comfortable to lay on than the concrete, just looks better :-) I just put it down a week ago and still have more to finish up.
