I think it does, because one of the things they base thier premiums on is location. I tried to insure my truck in NC, but it was located in MN and they said they couldn't do it.

On another note...
I am going to be shipping my car to Conneticut for a lot of work, will they cover the car if it's in work somewhere else or would my own theory apply to out of state coverage?
