Congratulations on the car. I went over and read your posts. Good for you. I was also happy to see you welcome REAL criticism or opinions once you silenced the useless commentators.
I have to admit that this time last year, my eyes were only open to 100% stock restorations when it came a preference for classic muscle cars. Since then, I have come to embrace the PT theme and REALLY appreciate the effort that it takes to create a PT car.
I use the word "create" because it is just that. If I think about it, even though it did take some hard work to get my car where it is now (about 85% complete), the decision making path was easy. The final product was known from the beginning. The design and performace was already dictated. In reality, I took documentation on what my car was from the day it rolled off the assembly line and returned it to that condition.
I'm in my mid 30's and I remember back in "my day", typically you bought a cheap used muscle car, swapped the intake, carb, cam and lifters, put wider tires on the back and replaced the AM radio with something that would scramble the stock 6x9's in the package tray.. and thats about where it all ended.
I have spent some time reading posts on this board and educating myself, and have come to respect and admire the effort that is involved in all of your project(s). It is an art. I have also come to realize that pro-touring is the best thing to happen to the muscle car genre in a long time. Going with the pro touring method breathes new life and interest into the classics to say the least.
Anyway, sorry for the soap box....
