My motor now is a 383, sbc, and I have heard that with a little more compression, and a little less boost the motor will have better "driveability" than with less compression, and more boost. I am looking for something around 550-600 horsepower.
Here are a few specs.
.030 over 350 4 bolt block.
Forged TRW pistons.
.500 intake, .518 exhaust, duration at .050 232intake, 242exhaust.
108 lobe seperation
Edelbrock RPM Alum. heads, w/ porting and bowl work. 64cc chambers
10.63 Compression
I believe I need to lower my compressions some, with maybe some different heads? So any suggestions on what fuel injection unit to use, and any supggestions on a supercharger? Will I need to change my cam?
Thanks for any help and direction you can give me.

With that power goal I'd recommend a P1SC. Will support that and more easily, and builds boost quickly. The cam should be swapped, the lobe separation should be around 114 or else you'll build less boost and later in the rpms. Compression also should be dropped to 9 to 9.5:1 for that power goal on pump gas, and heads with a bigger chamber is the easiest way to do that.
As far as EFI I like the FAST and BigStuff 3, but neither has complete kits. However Frank at GP Superstores can put together a package deal. If you go a different route on the EFI make sure whatever you choose runs a wideband O2.
