It's unbelievable how simple those engines are. In my IC engines class in college our Professor showed a picture and parts list of a normal reciprocating overhead valve engine and a wankel rotary. It's crazy how few parts they have.
My prof. actually did some research for John Deere on the shapes of the combustion chambers in the rotors. I'm not sure what John Deere would use one for, but cool nonetheless.
Update us with some HP/weight ratios when you get it done!
