Anything straight through and packed is the way to go IMO... they will have the least resonance, be quietest during light-load, and the best flow.
Borla XR1 (great mufflers in all aspects... unfortunately they are limited for inlet/outlet configurations and they don't make a config to fit my car which is the only reason I'm not running them.)

Spintechs sound pretty nasty and turn heads-- a couple of my friends run them only for the sound. However, several guys on another message board making big power have made more power switching from Spintechs to straight through packed style mufflers.
I used to run Ultraflo's but they cracked on me and I switched to Magnaflow. I really like them both for sound and quality-- and their case profile being devoid of flat surfaces will be more resistant to bloating/cracking as my Ultraflo's did.
