I just picked up a 53 Studebaker as a hot rod project for my wife. While it is going to look like a traditional 'Rod (suede paint, tuck & roll, etc.) There are going to be a few chassis upgrades:
New 2X4 frame with Morrison IFS up front, sway bar and AGR power r&p. Rear will be a tri 4-bar, 9" and sway bar, Strange adj coil overs and Wilwood brakes on all four corners.
Power will be a spiced up ZZ4 backed by a 700R trans. Hopefully cornering performance should be close to the GT55 project that we built

The guy that I bought the car from also has a 53 Stude that we did a frame for, and his car is running in the La Carrera Panamerica later in the year. 2200 mile road rally from Panama to Texas.  |
How about a 4L80e and a paddle shifting system
