Regarding the color.....I'll throw my $.02 in on copper/tangerine/orange pearl etc. I'm a huge fan of these colors in general and have enjoyed seeing them on tons of cars in recent years. However, within a few years the trend will be gone, just like the teal/aquas of the mid-90's and the Chameleon flip-flop paints from the late 90's. There's nothing that dates a car more than color (and wheels) and I really think the sun is beginning to set on the copper colors, not to mention 2-tone schemes. There will probably be some variations that stay fresh but it's just something to consider.
For instance, by the time I get my Nova painted, the Infiniti Garnet Fire (copperish red) will look "so 05-06."
On the other hand, playing it safe may not allow you to stand out....Black, red, silver...they are timeless and appeal to more people (good for resale). It's sort of like how home contractors paint the walls "contractor white" and install tan carpet....it goes with everything.
