Heck no. At 40 psi and up, they must be hard as rocks. I run 34 front 32 rear. The goal is to get some compliance back into the tires. Otherwise, it's grip, grip, grip....whoa doggie!! And I'm running 35 series 18's. Maybe try 2 psi higher than my settings for 17/40's Only drawback to dropping the pressure is that you have to check them more often. Try it, you'll be much happier with the ride and handling
