Default Introducing myself and my project “BISKWIK”

Hello Everyone! My name is Matt. I have been out of the scene for a while, but I’m finally getting back into it.

My project is a 1961 Chevrolet Biscayne. I have known this car for nearly 30 years. It belonged to a friend of mine who raced it. I helped him wrench on it throughout the various combinations it had. He has owned it 4 or 5 times throughout the years, with it going back and forth between other hot rod guys. It has had everything from a 6-71 blown small block to 6-71 blown big block to an aluminum head 502 with nitrous which later had a ProCharger added to the mix. It has a full cage with the frame stiffened and a Ford 9-inch with ladder bars. He had sold it with that combo and ended up buying it back over a year ago with the supercharged 454 in it. He was done with the racing aspect of things, but he purchased it back because of the history he had with the car. His plans were to make it a nice cruiser and take out the 454 and do an LS swap with all the creature comforts of power steering and AC. A little over a year into the project and he unfortunately lost interest in it. I fortunately made it to a point in my life where I could afford to purchase it from him.

It currently has an stock LQ4 with a fresh 4L60E transmission installed. He did manage to do the legwork and get the conversion done before losing interest. Of course me being me, I can’t leave the motor stock. I purchased a set of 243 heads which I will massage before installing and stage 2 LS Pro cam from Summit. I’m not trying to race it, but I want to bring up the torque since it is a heavy beast and of course give it a little more character. I am waiting for the Holley setup to arrive which I was recently updated that it will not be shipping until May. I have a lot of plans for BISKWIK and I will post them as things progress.

For now, I have to figure out a pic hosting site so I can post them here. I’ll start a build thread and link to it. Have a good one!
