the talk in the trade is that the etch needs to have a undercoat before top coat .....this is for a barrier for the acid in the etch. my thoughts are that the etch never sleeps and what would you do if you lost adhesion later????how would you fix this..........I would put a undercoat over it ! as for the spray can etch I have used it for years with no problems
