Default 64 Chevelle SS Malibu Redo

I purchased this car 12 years ago . Living in Utah and being a car guy when you see a old car that you like and it is running the original California black plate with a for sale sign , well you need to do what you need to . At that time I was putting the finishing touches on my 1971 ElCamino . My son at that time was 5 years old , I would notice him grabbing tools from the tool box and act like he was working on the Chevelle . At that point the wife and I decide that we would build the car drive it for a few years then give it to him as his first car . So in 2006 we started to restore with a frame off build on the car and build it my way . As a general contractor 2008 came about , forcing use to put the car on the back burner . This is roughly where we left off on the car .

Fast forward to 2013 my son now is 15 and found a C10 that we worked on for 2 years going trough the truck from top to bottom front to back .

With a LS swap built 700R4 12 bolt posi with 373 rear gear .

Now the kid has the bug and wants to build a more powerful and better handling car . So i just set back and waited it out as he poured though the local adds for sale trying to find that next project . After looking at a few and buying a car . I offered up the 64 Chevelle and he jump on it . So out came the blown small block and we pushed it out of the garage for the first time in
8 years . There it was with 8 years of dust on it .

Now after a wash job here it is .

Now we can start the tear down .

I agree with Jay. The car is already very nice, and will be obviously better, based on your sons taste...that truck is killer!
The best part about this build in the end, will be the time you got to spend with your son. Please keep us posted!

My Chevelle is old school... It has a belt driven power steering pump.
They're 17's, but I keep em clean!
