My name is J. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland but I now call San Antonio, Texas home. I purchased an 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS back in March of this year. I already have a cruise ready 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS that I have owned and modified since 2007. I am going for a different approach with my new Monte. I am going for a more performance oriented street car this time around.
I frequently attend local cruise ins and shows here in the Cen Tex area. If there are any other local guys or G body guys on here I look forward to hanging out and picking your brains for ideas on this one. Thanks
J

I'm not originally from Texas but I still show y'all love. Currently in Fort Worth and was stationed a quick drive from DC a couple years ago. My girlfriend loves those Montes. Keep us updated with what you do to it.
Welcome to site, by the way. I will check with Marcus at SC&C, he can help you with you car on suspension side of G body cars. He link on left side here. Nice to have another G-body person here.
Russell- I will be out there at the Pig Stand in my "cruiser" 84 SS. That truck of yours is hardly a beater...that thing is a work of art!!!
My plans are:
Full ART suspenion with shockwaves and lower and rear strong arms.
Replace the Edelbrock Performer Carb with a suitable fuel injection system. Suggestions?
Not sure on the wheels yet. I was looking at Coy's C-5's and C-67's in their flat black finish or black chrome.
I already have the 98-02 Blazer front brakes. Eventually I will upgrade to the C-5 vette 13 inch brakes and do the the LS1 F-body 12 inch rear brakes. I am also looking for a Grand National or 442 8.5 posi rear axle for it.
Paint might be a two tone silver and flat black or a flat black all around.
Interior will be one of the last touches. I'm not sure what will be in store there yet.
J
