Spent another 9 hours today putting her together. She sits about 3" too high in the rear and I have everything at its lowest point. Maybe I need some shorter shocks?

Rear end is in, engine/tranny mounted and got her rolling finally!

don't swap shocks till you get it all together. It will take time to settle. Nice work John....I hope your getting better valve covers later. .... or maybe just dip the engine in clear.

Yeah I have some carbon fiber valve covers I still need to install.

Will it settle at least 2 inches?

If you are interested in selling the stock valve covers with that oil fill tube let me know. Trying to track down a set, BTW car is turning out killer!

It's looking amazing John. I love the way the firewall turned out, especially this shot

While I did not measure how much my car settled, it did lower significantly. I think two inches is possible. Give it awhile is my advice. If I recall correctly, it could take a couple months to settle to its lowest point.

ps...I added a couple of pictures to my build thread showing the settle over three months. I didn't want to post them here and jack your thread. Nice progress, btw.

I wouldn't worry right now. You still have A LOT of weight to add into the car. Sound deadening, carpet, seats, headliner, interior panels, glass, audio, front sheetmetal, exhaust, and fluids are going to add a significant amount of weight. I know Bryan just posted up pictures of his, and it isn't even done yet. When it is done, it is going to have to be raised not just once, but also after a few months of settling, maybe a third time after 9 months or so. DSE's springs never seem to stop settling. I've heard hypercoils are better, but who knows. I think with the 19" wheels your car's stance even with the G Bar will be just fine!

Excellent build John..

I have got the SpeedTech Frame as well with Stainless Steel Works headers from Speedtech and Power Master Starter. I have the Milodon Oil Pan with remote oil filter, which I am planning to replace in the future. So could you please post the part number for the Autokraft Oil Pan? Was it an easy install as far as interferance with other parts goes?

The pan was from www.autokraft.org

I do not know the part number but they only have one. It fits perfectly and doesn't hit anything.
