Thanks for the input guys.

Todd, the I was like you and a bit cynical of whether the inner fender mods would work, but they do. The bigger question is whether or not the mods will actually make a huge difference, I've heard these cars with the DSE sub isn't great a small tight turns anyway. What has your experience been?

So yesterday I decided the brake calipers needed to be powder coated. If anyone is on the fence about powder coating their c6 z06 calipers, my suggestion would be to be happy with the factory bright red. I thought it wouldn't be too expensive, maybe 50 for new seals and a couple hundred for powder coating, but GM only sells seals with pistons so everything ended up costing around 400, plus another 400 for powder coating. Should have done some research before tearing the brakes down, oh well. The whole powder coating issue has led me to a much bigger problem though, what color to paint the brakes, ultimately what color to paint the accent stripe, red or blue? If the hockey stick stripe is red, the calipers will be gray with red lettering. If the stripe is blue, then calipers would either be primarily grey, or blue with contrasting lettering. So many little decisions

here are two spray outs:

I've always liked red because I first envisioned kind of a dark, sinister car, but the blue really does, pop and is different. Opinions are welcome so long as they're for red . Everyone at Best of Show likes blue, what do you guys think?

Also here is a scrap panel that BOS cut up to test out how to open the gills.

IMO..A darker blue would work better.Be a more subtle contrast.Perhaps even a metalic pearl blue to be something completely different..Just throwing ideas out there for you

That pic doesn't do that blue justice.. it's much darker and richer in person.. close to my WRX blue (on my '69)

I really like the blue.. it just goes so nice with the charcoal grey body color. We could powder your calipers to match and the car would have a ZR1 flair to it.

Yeah, the blue definitely looks a lot brighter in that picture than under any other light. I think the color actually has a fair amount of pearl in it, same with the charcoal. If I were to stand the panel up without direct light, the colors would be a medium blue and almost metallic black like grey. I'll get a better picture tomorrow. Oh decisions, decisions. I guess I'll have a color picked sometime next week since the brakes are at the powder coat company and they're going to want to do something soon.

Thumbs up

With either color, it will look awesome.
I'm digging both color schemes, so I see where you have a hard time deciding. Keep us posted.

No real problems Matt. On the street it's always been good with very little camber. However, the last track was very tight and I had just jumped up to 275's and new wheels. It rubbed good on the fender lip. I am putting more camber in it and may raise the front a little if needed. Race and street setup are really two different animals.
