Default 1970 Nova

Hi guys - I'm fairly new to posting here but thought i'd share my most recent and previous work in the appropriate forum...
This one is my current love, a 1970 nova i've been working on for a while...

Any comments good (and bad!) most welcome
cheers
Chris

Nice work! If I read right, you do your modeling in Rhino. That's cool, that's the program I got my start on. It's insanely potent from a manufacturing standpoint. I made the move to poly-based modeling programs once I saw how easy it was to go back and make major modifications when necessary. Really dig the backdrop as well.

Thanks man - yeah im a rhino user - its a double edged sword, i find it easy to generate the shapes but it takes a long time and NURBS isnt too easy to modify once its the way you want it. I want to make the jump to poly modeling soon. I tought myself in rhino but it seems to be a big jump (for me) to Maya/c3D , nurbs files seem to be huge comared to poly files so i imagine it would speed up my render times too...ah well...
your gallery is awesome !!

If you want to make the move to poly-based programs, I may be able to steer you in the right direction. I did the same thing. I taught myself Rhino first, got used to the whole concept of 3D modeling, and later migrated to XSI, Maya, Lightwave, and 3DS Max. All capable programs for sure. Glad you like my work (outdated as my gallery is these days...,) I look forward to seeing more of yours as well!

nice to see another deviant artist here. you make the nova look tight. here in the town i live in i see one that says 350 on it and appears to be in factory condition (by factory condition i mean factory condition plus almost 40 years and without mods or restoration)in some person's drive way .... for years it's never moved an inch. after looking at your drawings and a couple good looking Novas in PHR with that body style, i'm wondering how much they'd take for that old rusty hunk.
