Default Bubble Wrap

Get the bubble wrap ready for me. 598 might need some too.

I think that Luxo blue is Lemans Blue.

It was a late C5 color and then a C6 color until 2007.

Here is my lemans blue c6 out in the sun.

Your car is looking great - love the wheels!

Thanks Bonecrrusher.

You are correct. That color debuted as Lemans Blue on the 2004 Z06. Since then, GM has used it under different labels on other vehicles under different names including Blue Topaz and Xenon on the Cadillac, and even Heritage Blue on the 2014 Trucks. They are all WA933L paint code. Loved that color the first time I saw it. With blasting the car and replacing sheet metal, I could paint it any color I wanted. I think I am glad I stuck with blue judging how great the color has turned out. Your car looks great, too!

I knew there was a reason I liked the blue on the 2014 trucks!

I'll have to pay more attention next time I see one.

Keep up with the great updates!

Was able t make it by the shop yesterday. Still a couple more tweaks to be done before I bring it home, but still progressing. Pictures really don't do justice on how it really looks in person, but these two shots probably give the best perspective.

This shot was taken when it was fresh out of paint:

This one was yesterday after being wet sanded and buffed:

Few more from yesterday:

Meanwhile, the parts for my old steering column came in, so I was able to finish rebuilding it. I cleaned everything up and painted it. I then replaced the tumbler, turn signal switch, all the bearings and finished it off with a billet turn signal lever and flasher button. Sorry, no pictures as I did it, but I you can find a video on Youtube as I did that will step you through the whole process. It was surprisingly easy to disassemble and reassemble.

Alright, quick update. I finally got it back home. A big thank you to Marcel and the guys at RUSH Customs and Classics for the incredible work they did on this beast. They were always professional, always on top of things and kept me informed through out the whole process. The end result, well, see for yourself...

Just off the trailer... Cloudy day, so the metallic is not gleaming, but still shiney Can't stand it...Let's get started!

Soon as I got it in the garage, started on the Dynomat. This pic was the mock-up. That pre-cut kit is awesome.

Whipped out on of the new screw sets I got to begin reassembly.

Got the rear back together and installed the trunk weather stripping.

Couldn't stand it. Had to put the rears on!

More pics to come. This is all I took so far. It rained all day here so did what I could in the garage and not the greatest for pictures.
Thanks again for lookin'!

Thanks, guys. Yeah I'm really pleased and pumped up to get this thing back together. But I have a long way to go. I still have to get the wiring back in it, window glass, brake lines, fuel tank, exhaust, motor, interior, etc...you know the drill... But in the mean time, you're right...it does look good I have all winter to work on it, and lookie there....Christmas is right around the corner...how convenient. I just need to pass my list to Santa and maybe a Christmas miracle will happen...lol!

Good thing is, I have most everything and just need to install. Very few things left I need to order. It is just going to be slow and a lot of blue tape. You should have seen how careful I was just putting the bumper on.

Smile In the Garage at long last!

Cool to see that car back in your garage! The color turned out awesome. I did not see, in all of the garage photos, the roll of bubble wrap for me and 598. That slick a paint job will be pretty intimidating to work around. Cannot wait.
