Default Rusty Wallace 1966 Chevy 2

Been busy in the shop and haven't posted much lately. We just finished this 66 Chevy 2 for Rusty Wallace. It came in for some DSE goodies before going back to his own shop. Well it escalated a bit. It was a "fresh" auction car that had been hit hard in the right front and slapped back together. He wanted it done right asked us to keep moving forward. We replaced most of the sheet metal and pulled everything back into shape. It got a few custom touches as well. He had his guys do the paint and body before bringing it back for assembly. It's off to interior now and then he plans on cruising back and forth between NC and TN

DSE subframe and minitubs. Couldn't convince him to go quadralink, something about "I've gone over 200 mph into corners on leafs and they've always worked just fine". I'm couldn't argue that so we moved the composite leafs inboard and got everything dialed in.

I loled about the leaf springs......customer is always right.

Latches in the quarter? No space in the door?

That's correct. The window tracks were too tight to clear the late model latch.

"I've gone over 200 mph into corners on leafs and they've always worked just fine"...I'm a #3 fan through and through but damn I liked the way Rusty wheeled a race car...

Fantastic looking build by the way

Can anyone explain the reasoning for the latch change? I see this on a lot of the shop builds.
