Ended up buying the BrandMotion, from Summit. I saw the Voxx one at Sema last year, it's really trick... though $800'ish. I might have talked myself into spending that stupid money on a rearview mirror but just couldn't get them to send me any details of the entire product, I gave it a 30 day effort.
The BrandMotion stuff looks good on screen, so I'll set it up and see how it works and looks in real life. Will follow up in a few weeks.

I'm looking into a system as well for my car. I haven't checked into prices yet, but the mirror system in my truck uses the mirror, coax cable, and the third brake lamp mounted camera in a stand alone system. It only needs power and ground to work based off the schematics.

I did a pretty thorough temp install in my truck. The quality of the mirror, camera and all of the wiring and controller were top notch. Set up was easy and a lot of functionality. Very stable image and I really like the front camera and the security features.
That all said, it just didn't work as well as I'd hoped. The mirror/screen becomes confusing because there are competing images. The video from the camera is certainly more promenant than the image that is reflected from the mirror but it's just not clear enough.
It's real close. Truth be told.......might also just be my old-@ss eyes.
