That is one of those projects that are put together a piece at a time, It can be done, We have in the past. I never really bothered with detailed pics because when you looked at them you couldn't tell what was done to cover bars. I would use aluminum and build sections then connect them together, foam, cover and install. Its one of those things you have to see go together. Its hard to explain on a forum post. Every car and cage combo is different.

Default Really?

I did not know this about cages. So it has to be a solid hoop? I would like to road race this car at times. Wow what a letdown, i love the way it looks. Well i guess i will deal with that later, thanks for the info!!

With that being said not all cars require a full cage as a requirement for track days.

The main hoop needs to be one piece and no more than 4 bends. Placed no more than 6" behind the drivers head and 2" above the drivers head.

If you rear through their build I made a comment about their cage, Im not trying to be an a-hole. I just want to point something out.

I saw their build with that cage. Its not legal for SCCA or NHRA or NASA. The main hoop per those sanctioning body must be one continuous piece with no more than 4 bends. It also doesnt mean its not a safe or well engineered cage. It just means it wont pass tech for those sanctioning bodies. But most of our cars dont need a legal cage to compete.

NHRA requires a cage at 11.30 ET, thats fast for a car with a PT type rear suspension with under 550 hp.

SCCA does not require a cage unless its a convertible. The only issue comes in when you want to mount a 5pt harness, you cant do it with out a roll bar.
