But in his case he could not get it to clear the headers (tried Hooker and custom Lemons headers). The shop called Ridetech and they told them headers wouldn't work with that system.

I know the install pics show headers but I believe it's an LS swap car. I would call and verify from Ridetech first if that will be an issue with what you're doing. Other than that the shop doing the work had installed these before on other cars (not first gens) and liked the system and had no fit issues.
i should have mentioned I have a set of Doug's headers on a sbc they are not traditional long tubes more like 4 to 2 to collector type of thing...would almost call them midlength?

I have a stock subframe, global west upper and lowers
stock spindle, AGR ps box, QA1 coilovers, 18x8.5 rushforths and 245 40 18s on it

i bought the car with all adjustments maxed out to make the car as low as possible....it rides like crap, rubs when i crank the wheel in both directions.
control arms basically on the bump stops

switching things around now...my goal is to just get the car as low as possible where everything is performing correctly and be able to make a proper 3 point turn or a U turn like a normal person lol

i like to lowered stance but realize the car will have to go up

Im hoping to add some global west shorter subframe bushings
replace the 350lbs springs with something stiffer

I am thinking of adding drop spindles, but then read about the TRUTURN

Im not looking to run a 275 tire...I just want to get the lowered stance and be able to turn on a 245 tire

is truturn what i need here or can I just but some drop spindles and call it a day?

thank you...Bob
The Tru Turn was designed to be able to get the steering arm higher on the spindle so that you can run more backspace as the wheel will fit over the steering arm instead of hitting it. That does no sound like something you need.

The two main obstacles you encounter when lowering a car are suspension travel and steering angle/wheel size before something hits. The suspension travel can be fixed with a drop spindle. The steering angle and wheel size both come down to how much physical space you have before the wheel hits the fender or inner fender, and the only way to fix that is to get smaller wheels, or clearance the sheetmetal to allow for more room!

Hope that's at least a little bit helpful!

decided to try cutting the top hats off and make the car a true coil over car while at the same time extending shock travel
also going to add lower subframe bushings

also need to rebuild a QA1 already....1800 miles...hopefully that tucks the top of the tire and allows my to make a 3 point instead of a 76 point turn

You may put your steering column rag joint into bind with lower subframe bushings.

I’m not seeing how either of those changes will gain you improved turning radius.

A blast from the past but yep. Use to be on TRS and what not. Did not have a 4th gen though but was with all of the 4th gen crowd/ls1tech, etc.

Long time man!

ive been told about loosening the rag joint.....AGR steering box needs to come out.
Turning ability should increase when I raise the car an inch or so....(I hope) fender lips also getting massaged. The coilover mod Im doing is to better the ride quality
any suggestions on what else I should be doing?

I think you will lose some of the gain when you install the half height bushings.

Anvil wide inner fenders would help quite a bit. Or have your stock inners modified.

Are you hitting the sway bar? A splined bar may gain some clearance.

Post up a pic of your ride height.

The car only rubs on the outside fender lip
I measured the ride height
22 3/4" front 23 3/4" rear......

yes I know how ridiculous that height is....lol

Increasing negative camber can help a little. What are your alignment settings?
