Default Chevy overdrive auto transmission

I sold my last toy and am now building a 51 Chevy Pickup. I am running a boxed stock frame, Fatman front end with a TCI 4 link with a John's 3.70 geared 9" rear. I have a Chevy crate 350 that's rated at 350hp and 390ft tq and Edelbrock Pro Flow 4 XT injection.

The plan is to run an automatic with an overdrive, my question is which one am I best running? This is a street vehicle with no autocross or drag racing. Just a fun truck. Is a 700R good enough? Do I go 4L60E? Is that overkill?

The way I see it, and please chime in if I'm wrong, is that with the 700 all I have to deal with is a tv cable. With the 4L60 or anything like it I need a computer and harness, and to donate a lung on the black market.

Can you all offer up advice and suggestions please? I'm listening.......

I recommend a 700R4.
No harness or computer, just a TV cable.
Get a good 700R4 and you will be fine.
My two cents!

Default Phoenix Transmission Products

Call Greg Ducato @ (817) 599-7680

I've been running one of his 700R4s behind my 440cid Pontiac for over a decade!
