You can do the same thing by adding a pin and wire to the harness.

But this is easy for guys that don't have ECMs

How do you do that? Is reprogramming required for the ECM. I have an older red/blue ECM running a 5.3, and I'm going to convert to a 6 speed.

Look up the pin outs for your ECM and add a wire. The wire you add will provided ground based on VSS. Run 12v ignition to the solenoid and the wire from the ECM and it will activate the solenoid under 2-3 mph.

Would not need any programming if your ECM has RLO.

I've posted this before, why is there not a shifter with a manual lockout. Pull up on a ring or push down on the knob to get reverse.....soup. That should exist.

Shifter company could use the opportunity to design a shifter that doesn't leak, also.
