Default T-56 Mag or Tranzilla?

I had always planned on doing a T-56 mag and a SC LS3. However, that plan changed a bit when I found Mike Redpath from Musclerodz & Customz engine for sale.

https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=50890

My question is what kind of tranny do I need to be look at now. I will be driving street 80% of the time, Autox, track the rest of the time. I have been told the T56 mag can handle up to 1,000hp but I don't want to be sorry I didn't upgrade from the start later. Would anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Side note:
I plan on running the new speedtech subframe.

Thank you for your time

A buddy of mine trashed a brand new T56 magnum with his twin turbo stroked LS2 motor in his 71 Camaro. The thing ran 133 mph in the quarter and he road races the car and street drives it too pretty hard

Tranzilla would work but I am sending mine to RPM to handle more. Prices include trans so call them if you intend to send one you already own for a quote on your specific needs.

Thank you for the feedback I certainly can't afford to buy a new tranny. I just have no idea what I should do I expect that I will push the car hard. The whole reason you build a car like this is to go fast.

Nineball on here has had much success with a stock 6060 on a viper making much more power than mentioned here. T56 mag is stock 6060 guts.

I went with a Tranzilla as my call to Tremec with the power I'm expecting (1200 range) they recommended RSG.

Dont think you can go wrong with either a Tranzilla or a RPM built trans. Know many who have had success with both.

Mark Stielow has never complained about his T56 mag from D&D performance. He drives his cars pretty hard.

I'm pushing around 1400hp thru a stock T56 Magnum in my 88mm turbo 6.2liter RX-7 and no issues. I don't powershift it... and haven't launched hard.
Had over 700 very very hard miles on it. All over 1000rwhp setting.

It ran 9.35@163mph with more left in it. Launching with zero boost and normal shifting.... not foot to the floor. The shifting quality of the Magnum is light years ahead of any 2006 and older style T56.

Some people can break anything.... if you simply drive it too hard. But for $3K the T56 Magnum takes a serious beating. Even in 5th gear it takes 1400hp which is much weaker than the other gears.
I have one in my LS7 RX-7 also and it kicks *ss.
