Is this just a bias that we tend to have towards products made in the USA, and in reality foreign manufactered parts are fine? How do you know where the various crankshafts are made? Few of the websites tell you that kind of info. Other than calling and asking, how can you tell?
Thanx in advance.

Its hard to tell sometimes! I often use the price as an indication of quality. "You get what you pay for " kinda thing. Both Crower and Callies claim they use USA made blanks and forgings, don't know about other companies. You can definately tell the difference if you have to do any machine work to them. Overseas cranks have porosity and hard spots in their material, yet I have never had one fail in an engine. Some cheaper cranks also require a lot more $$ to get them to balance.Hope that helps.
